CS undergrad at BITS Pilani × Scaler School of Technology.
I build systems, then write the harnesses that try to break them.
I found real nondeterminism in vLLM's deterministic mode. Byte-identical requests to an unchanged warm server disagreed under concurrency. Filed as vllm#51187 and independently reproduced by another engineer on different hardware, who proposed the RMSNorm block-size switch as the cause. I built the instrument that settled it: a pre-registered run tracing num_tokens at every kernel launch across 16 server lifetimes, 1,120 pairwise comparisons, zero exceptions in either direction. Two repeats return identical logprobs if and only if every token was reduced at the same block width. That is a sharper claim than the one I was handed, and it corrected the granularity of it.
One of my patches reached upstream GCC master. gccrs#4731 went into GCC in a maintainer's 77-patch sync with my authorship preserved. Five PRs into the Rust frontend so far, three merged, plus three crash bugs I found and filed myself.
I publish what the measurements say, including when they contradict me. In Lockstep, all-pairs comparison showed half my original finding was a first-batch artifact, so the retraction sits beside the result. In Shadowbook, seven benchmark runs gave p50 anywhere from 385 to 424ns, so the published number is the median rather than the good one. In the backfire paper, a checker I wrote to verify my own bibliography caught a citation with a fabricated author list that had survived a merge, a build and a full read.
| Project | What it is | Live |
|---|---|---|
| Lockstep | Batch-invariant LLM inference engine built as the fixture for its real deliverable: a certifier that checks output stays bit-identical however requests are batched, ordered, preempted or evicted. Paged KV, continuous batching, fixed-reduction Triton kernels. The harness is tested like the engine, 10/10 mutation operators killed, 65/65 invariance relations. Every published figure traces to a declared artifact. | |
| Shadowbook | Single-instrument limit order book matching engine in Rust. Price-time priority over a 65,536-tick band, preallocated order arena. 100M differentially fuzzed operations against a reference oracle, zero divergences. 416ns p50 insert on a stated machine, published as a median over seven runs with the full range beside it. Zero hot-path allocation is enforced by a counting global allocator, not asserted. | |
| MIRR | Incident-response environment where agents diagnose and recover failing microservices from partial telemetry. Five services, one hidden fault, ±15% metric noise, logs that cost a step. Published numbers are generated from a fingerprinted artifact and a pre-commit hook rejects any drift between README and measurement. | Space |
| Starling | Real-time collaborative editor on a Fugue CRDT. Treap-backed document, custom binary wire encoding, relay and provider, ProseMirror binding. 377 tests. 60,000 deletions encode to 15 bytes on the wire. Published as starling-crdt. |

| CAIRN | Self-hosted Git platform in Java on a real content-addressable VCS engine. Packfiles with delta compression, commit DAG with generation numbers, Myers diff, three-way merge, trigram code search, smart-HTTP transport. Cross-verified against the git binary: fsck, index-pack, verify-pack, and real clone/push/fetch. The complexity and tradeoff analysis in docs/ is the point of the repo. |

| Flint | Bootable x86-64 kernel in Rust under QEMU. Physical and virtual memory, allocator, preemptive scheduler, interrupts, syscall boundary and a shell. W^X and ring 0 / ring 3 isolation proven by a harness that tries to break out. | |
| Tessera | Poisoning-resistant distribution for ML models and datasets. Publisher signs once, untrusted mirrors distribute, any consumer verifies the exact signed bytes with full provenance. Tamper-evident, replay-proof, revocation-aware. |

- gccrs (GCC Rust frontend, C++) #4731, #4728, #4799 · a dead-code lint missing types used as generic arguments, which later reached upstream GCC master; rustc-compatible
E0259/E0260diagnostics, design agreed with two maintainers on Zulip before writing code; and a segfault on empty path segments that I found, filed as #4790, and root-caused three layers below the crash, in the parser rather than the type checker where it surfaced - microsoft/PyRIT #1960 · a CodeAttack converter for Microsoft's AI red-teaming framework, through three review rounds and a 150-commit rebase across a breaking upstream rename, 31 tests to 88. Two of the review rounds found silent-failure bugs in my own code, including a test that had codified one
- jaeger-ui (CNCF) #4053, #4271, #4313 · GenAI span classification over OpenTelemetry semantic conventions; a trace view that re-derived detection instead of reading the shared detector, so every improvement to that detector was silently bypassed there; and image and audio rendering for GenAI spans

- When Self-Consistency Backfires · sole author, v1 accepted at the 2nd Workshop on Efficient Reasoning, COLM 2026. A pre-registered study finding that majority-vote sampling degrades accuracy on most expert-level problems: 56.6% of GPQA Diamond problems for Qwen2.5-7B, 65.7% for Llama-3-8B. v2 revises the accepted version's own mechanism claim and carries a corrections section listing ten disclosures against itself. Artifacts at 10.5281/zenodo.21933418 (derived, open) and 10.5281/zenodo.21933422 (raw sample store, on request).
- Three verifier-free confidence signals, three different failure modes · plurality agreement fails and why is the paper's largest open question; mean token entropy fails as a measurement artefact, because the gate averaged one answer token together with ~600 tokens of near-deterministic prose; the answer-token logprob margin fails on saturation, with a plurality-dissenting sample still emitting its answer at a median 20.5 nats. The unit matters too: the same signal gives a pooled separation whose interval excludes zero and a within-problem paired separation whose interval crosses it.
- A reasoning-native GPQA store built on a consumer laptop · the paper reports a reasoning wall on hosted inference. It was a billing wall, not a capability one. 198 problems x 64 samples, 12,672 completions, 82.7M tokens, top-20 logprobs retained, 23.4 hours on one RTX 4060 at zero marginal cost, resumed through four mid-run kills to a hash-verified artifact. Release pending.
- Model forensics: why frontier models refuse benign safety research · two published accounts disagreed about the cause. A 2x2 decomposition with matched controls over 750 samples across three models showed both were right, about different models: one is legitimacy-gated, the other content-gated, and extended thinking reverses the ordering. Under deliberation the model raises the same objection it uses to refuse, then discharges it by citing an approval chain and oversight that do not exist.
