I am a PHP, Go and TypeScript developer based in Minneapolis.
I work across the entire stack, but I’m happiest in the backend. Moving data, pushing bytes around, making things fast.
I ❤️ tiny reusable parts with single responsibilities and no side effects. I keep code simple, clear, and easy for anyone to read.
I’ve spent fifteen years in EdTech keeping old systems running and new ones from catching fire. Before that I built industrial and B2B tools where things had to work because people depended on them.
I’ve been building a little collection of practical tools: querying MySQL dumps without loading them into MySQL, parsing logs, generating context-aware files with a Go-based touch alternative, experimenting with a PHP 9P2000 stream wrapper, and making browser tabs easier to manage. They’re all small, focused projects, but I enjoy turning annoying everyday problems into tools I can understand end to end. (github.com)
I’ve also been thinking more about AI-assisted development and the balance between speed and control. I appreciate the boost, but I still want explicit branches, reviewable changes, and enough understanding of the code to stand behind what I commit.
