New Database: DB2 for z/OS

• How do you typically connect? the same way as regular db2

• Database documentation link: i managed to connect to the database via the db2 connection. But i get a error about a table not existing: SQL0204N "SYSIBMADM.ENV_INST_INFO" is an undefined name. SQLSTATE=42704
  After some research it seems that SYSIBMADM.ENV_INST_INFO exists in db2 for LUW (Linux Unix Windows) but not in db2 for z/OS

Any advice on how I can get one of these to test against ? the IBM cloud appears to have shutdown running z/OS images ?

The IBM Cloud LinuxONE Virtual Server for VPC (s390x architecture) is deprecated, and as of 28 February 2026, you can't create new instances

I have released 1.30.7 which should work against z/OS but I have still been unable to create a test, so it's theoretical based on the docs for the system tables etc.

You can no longer run z/OS images on their cloud, and I have been unable to get access to any test instances.

Let me know how you go, and we can tweak if needed.

I can confirm that the issue persists on dbcode 1.38.4: Error connecting to LBDB2W, error: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2] SQL0204N "SYSIBMADM.ENV_INST_INFO" is an undefined name. SQLSTATE=42704

on the other hand, I can connect directly from the terminal without any issues:

db2cli execsql -execute -connstring "DATABASE=;HOSTNAME=;PORT=;PROTOCOL=TCPIP;UID=;PWD=;SECURITY=SSL;SSLServerCertificate=C:\keystore_db2klient______;"
