Describe the bug

When we go to emoji search, the keyboard layout is not the same as the main keyboard layout. Its appearance is different, and also swipe typing does not work in emoji search mode. Also, if we try to type 123?, it exits emoji search mode and switches to the main layout.

(There is also another bug in the emoji search text field, which I’ll show in the video.)

emoji layout → search emoji →
You can see that the layout in emoji search is not exactly the same as the normal one, and swipe typing does not work in emoji search.

Expected behavior

Swipe typing should work in emoji search.
The layout in emoji search should be exactly the same as the normal layout.
The bug in the emoji search text field should be fixed.

which version are you on, it does disable for me though

Emoji search text field bugs

These bugs are clearly shown in the screen recording I took, but I’ll explain them so you can match them with the recording:

1. When the cursor is in the middle of a phrase, and we type a new letter, instead of inserting it at the cursor position, it gets added to the end of the phrase.

2. When the cursor is in the middle of a phrase, and we press the delete button, instead of deleting the character before the cursor, it deletes the last character in the phrase.

However, if we delete by swiping on the delete button, it works correctly and deletes the character before the cursor.

got it, btw does emoji suggestion toggle/disabling working for you?

Im on 4.0.3. Its happening on UK English and Canada English dictionary's

you mean,no issue on other dictionaries or its what you using

Those are the two I've tried, to try to eliminate those as the direct cause.

I uninstalled and reinstalled it and seems to have fixed it!
