Yes, Graphite is a client side web app. Just install it as a PWA if you need to open it without an internet connection. Note that the font catalog, provided by Google Fonts, will be unavailable, so text will not work but everything else will.

It is supposed to work if you properly install the PWA using the instructions posted above. The app launcher can be opened using the copy that was cached when last accessed while connected. You may need to research troubleshooting steps why that's not working in your specific browser and OS combination, but that is outside the range of help we're able to provide since it pertains to the browser software and not Graphite software. That's all well and good. I've taken a look at your software and tried to compare it to Inkscape. It seems your approach is much more modern with its node-based editing capabilities, and your further goals appear to be very ambitious.

Nevertheless, I would be extremely pleased if you could develop a user-friendly EXE installer for Windows 10/11/(12). I'm a user, not a developer, and installations need to be completely trouble-free and fully automatic for me. I certainly won't be using the web version, and I strongly criticize you for releasing something like that when we should all be striving to be as resource-efficient as possible. Every web-based application inevitably incurs server and traffic costs (eco-waste). That's simply unacceptable and completely unnecessary. I'm a strict opponent of this. I understand that this way your software can even be offered/used on an iOS or Android smartphone, which certainly seems great, but it's simply unnecessary. Graphics are created on a computer, and we don't need to participate in every little thing that contributes to the further destruction of our wonderful planet.

Convert your source code to Vulkan (if you haven't already), and you can then easily support the most important platforms and offer installers for them.

Please think about this very carefully.

Das ist ja gut und recht. Ich habe mir Ihre Soft etwas angesehen und versucht mit Inkscape zu vergleichen. Es scheint das Ihr Ansatz exrem viel moderner ist mit der nodbasierten Bearbeitungsmöglichkeit und Ihre weiteren Ziele offenbar sehr hoch gesteckt sind.
Trotz all dem würde es mich enorm freuen wen Sie einen komunen EXE-Installer für Win.10/11/(12) zusamenbauen. Ich bin Anwender und kein Entwickler und Installationen müssen für mich komplett unproblematisch wie vollautomatisch ablaufen. Die WEB-Version werde ich ganz bestimmt nicht nurzen und muss Sie sehr rügen so etwas frei zu setzen wo wir alle uns doch vielmehr bemühen müssten möglichst recourcenschonend durchs Leben zu gehen. Jede Web-gestützte Aplikation zieht aber Surver- und Traficaufwand nach sich. Das geht gar nicht und muss wirklich nicht sein. Ich bin da ein restriktiver Gegner. Ich verstehe das man auf diese Weise sogar auf einem iOS oder Android Smartphone Ihre Software anbieten/nutzen kan was sicher toll erscheint aber einfach unnötig ist. Grafik erstellt man auf einem Rechner und jeden Furz muss man nicht mitmachen um unseren wunderbaren Planeten noch etwas schneller zu grunde zu richten.
Stellen Sie Ihren Sourcecode auf Vulkan um (fals noch nicht) und damit können Sie dan die wichtigsten Platformen zimlich mühelos abdecken und können Installer für diese Anbieten.

Denken Sie darüber bitte einmal vertieft und sehr gut nach.

This is now properly resolved as of #3985. https://dev.graphite.art is the dev branch and this will make its way into the stable release when the next update arrives.
